Well this fall I decided to try shooting some falling leaves... leaves in the process of falling... its harder than it sounds :) I usually think of falling leaves as "drifting" toward the ground.... well this is far from the truth... they fall really fast and its impossible to predict what path they will be taking :) So anyway here are couple pictures of that.... but the really cool thing that happened is that I got a picture that inspired me to redesign my blog :) Please.. ALL of you leave a comment and let me know what you think and what you like and don't like about it! It is sort of a work in progress :)
So are those awesome colors or what? That was the color palette for my logo! Thanks to all of you all that gave your opinion and help on it :)

ReplyDeleteomw I love it!! I adore the colors, the comp, everything! The second one is perfect! It must have taken forever to get one with that focus on top of the other challenges. Were you working with a tripod?
ReplyDeleteThe focus on the last one where the leaf is just a blur is very creative. Makes you feel contemplative. Good colors too, feels a tad surreal but still very real.
ps. LOVE the logo!!! hahah, it's awesome! :D

So what you're saying is that all those myriads of "falling leaves" photos out there are probably photoshopped? ;-) I guess good photography takes patience, eh?
ReplyDeleteSince you asked...I'm liking the new layout. I think you had a black background before? I like these colors better. :-) They're more...uhh...thoughtful. Hehe...if colors can be thoughtful. If there was one thing I would change, I might maybe brighten the color on the logo just a smidge. The colors in your "inspiration" photo look really crisp and clear (which I think fits your idea of "clear angle" really well), but the logo is just a wee bit "dull" (on my monitor, anyway). Maybe. <--says the non-graphic-designer who doesn't know what she's talking about. (Hey, you asked. ;-))

ReplyDeleteNew logo: awesome idea!! The "angle" still seems to stick out a little bit but overall I really like the camera in the c, and the a on an angle. great concept. :)
New menu: genius. that is awesomeness and now I want one! You could put your contact info in the menu instead of having it be right there on the page... might de-clutter a little bit.
Falling leaf pictures: Really cool!! haha I like the blurry one. :)

@april.. thanks! yeah it seems a bit dark on my screen but I've noticed that most of the newer ones brighten it up quite a bit so ya :)
@sarah thanks.. the new menu was inspired... I've never seen it on a website before :) But something similar is used by mac in their OS :)
